Shutdown HSE Trainer – Safety Training Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a highly experienced Shutdown HSE Trainer to support safety training activities during major shutdown/turnaround operations in Qatar. The role requires extensive industrial HSE and safety training experience in fertilizer, oil & gas, chemical or petrochemical environments, and a bachelor’s degree in engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver HSE and safety training programs for employees, contractors, and shutdown personnel.
• Conduct shutdown‑specific safety inductions and training in line with client requirements and site HSE procedures.
• Provide training on high‑risk activities such as Permit to Work, Working at Height, Confined Space Entry, Lifting Operations, Hot Work, Lockout/Tagout, PPE, Emergency Response, Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment.
• Assess participants’ competency through examinations, practical assessments and discussions.
• Maintain accurate attendance, assessment and competency records.
• Support shutdown HSE teams by reinforcing critical safety requirements and identifying training gaps.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mandatory).
• NEBOSH International General Certificate (or equivalent) (mandatory).
• IADT or equivalent Trainer/Train‑the‑Trainer qualification (mandatory).
• Minimum 5 years of HSE/safety training experience in fertilizer, oil & gas, chemical or petrochemical industries.
• Proven experience delivering training during shutdowns/turnarounds is highly preferred.
• Fluency in English and ability to communicate in Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, Nepali or similar languages.
