Signage Asset Engineer – Roads Operations & Maintenance

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented and analytical Signage Asset Engineer (Roads O&M) to join our team in Doha, Qatar. In this role you will manage the lifecycle, maintenance and compliance of highway traffic signage assets, ensuring safety, visibility and cost‑effective operations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all highway signage assets, including regulatory, warning, guide, directional and informational signs, as well as ground‑mounted and overhead structures.
• Ensure compliance with standards such as MUTCD, ASTM and local authority specifications.
• Develop and maintain accurate asset inventories and registers in the Asset Management System.
• Establish inspection criteria, conduct inspections and analyse condition data to assess performance and deterioration trends.
• Design and implement preventative and corrective maintenance, rehabilitation and replacement programmes based on risk and whole‑life cost analysis.
• Monitor retroreflective sheeting performance and oversee fabrication, installation and workmanship quality.
• Lead inspection and maintenance teams, coordinate with multidisciplinary stakeholders and prepare technical and compliance reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in highway operations and maintenance, specifically traffic signage asset management.
• Strong knowledge of traffic sign standards (MUTCD, ASTM) and retroreflectivity requirements.
• Experience with asset management, inspection databases and maintenance management systems.
• Proven analytical skills to interpret condition data and develop risk‑based strategies.
