Solution Architect

About the role

The Solution Architect will define and maintain IT domain architecture, technology standards and delivery practices to support automation across assigned business units of Qatar Airways. The role involves reviewing solutions, mentoring delivery teams, evaluating tools and leading technical resources to ensure consistent, secure, and scalable implementations.

Key responsibilities

• Establish IT domain architecture, technology and delivery standards.
• Conduct solution reviews and recommend architecture and design standards.
• Mentor IT delivery teams on design and development practices.
• Evaluate technologies, tools and third‑party vendor applications, and drive adoption plans.
• Lead a team of technical resources based on the assigned work program.
• Govern system architectures across business units to ensure consistency with requirements.
• Design end‑to‑end technical solutions aligned with business strategy.
• Collaborate with Solution Architects from other lines of business to standardize tools and technologies.
• Contribute to architecture governance, methodologies and compliance activities.
• Review functional and non‑functional requirements, technical architecture, interface specifications and high‑level design documents.
• Decompose complex applications using Domain‑Driven Design, identify micro‑services and define APIs.
• Oversee development, ensure alignment with design guidelines and provide strategic guidance to development teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience establishing IT architecture and delivery standards.
• Strong ability to evaluate and adopt new technologies and tools.
• Leadership experience guiding technical teams and governing system architectures.
• Excellent analytical skills to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
