Sr. Construction Supervisor (Brownfield) - Offshore Project

About the role

A global manpower provider is sourcing a Senior Construction Supervisor (Brownfield) for a multi-billion offshore redevelopment project, working for a major oil and gas operator. The role is onshore in Qatar, on a 24-month long-term contract with possible extension, at 8-10 hours per day, 5 days per week, with possible relocation to the EPC site office.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure the contractor executes brownfield onshore fabrication and offshore installation, hook-up and mechanical completion according to company requirements, breaking down the scope into work-packs and job cards.
• Review and approve contractor deliverables such as drawings, procedures, method statements, work-packs, job cards, lifting plans and Level-4 schedules.
• Monitor and report on contractor performance, manpower deployment, equipment movements and construction slippage, and hold daily and weekly meetings with discipline supervisors, QA/QC inspectors and HSE advisors.
• Act as construction risk management representative, identifying risks, proposing mitigations and ensuring they are implemented on site.
• Review and verify daily and weekly progress reports and contractor progress statements, and liaise with senior discipline engineers during detailed engineering and procurement.
• Check that works meet approved standards and contract specifications, and coordinate MCC walk-throughs, pre-commissioning and commissioning.
• Manage work permits, including isolation and lock-out/tag-out of live services, tie-in to live facilities and testing and integration.
• Coordinate mobilization and demobilization of contractors, subcontractors and vendors, and manage site construction activities under the general supervision of the Head, Construction - Brownfield.

Required profile

• B.Sc. or HND in Mechanical, Mechatronics or Petroleum Engineering, or a diploma with extensive hands-on experience in major offshore brownfield execution.
• 10-12 years of experience in oil and gas construction and installation, with strong offshore brownfield experience.
• Knowledge of structural, piping and mechanical installation, including lifting plan assessment and lifting operations.
• Understanding of brownfield demolition, hook-up and mechanical completion of process, utility and well head jackets.
• Ability to interpret method statements, lifting plans, inspection and test plans, schedules and drawings, and to suggest solutions to problems.
• Good communication, writing and computer literacy, and ability to supervise and coordinate a multi-national, multi-cultural workforce.
