Sr. IT Operations Officer

About the role

We are seeking a senior professional to lead and coordinate IT operations initiatives in our Doha office. The role focuses on managing projects, ensuring service continuity, and supporting cloud adoption across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and track IT operations projects such as infrastructure upgrades, system enhancements, monitoring tools, and service transitions.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders to deliver projects within scope, schedule, and budget.
• Create and maintain operational documentation, including SOPs, runbooks, architecture diagrams, and disaster‑recovery procedures.
• Plan, execute, and document disaster‑recovery drills, meeting defined RTO and RPO targets.
• Support audit readiness through structured documentation and evidence management.
• Maintain the Cloud Adoption Report, tracking usage, cost optimization, and migration milestones.
• Standardize IT operations processes in line with ITIL best practices (incident, change, problem management).
• Track SLA performance and report operational KPIs to management.
• Assist the Head of IT in managing relationships with service providers and evaluating contract performance.
• Support the IT Admin in managing the lifecycle of physical and virtual assets.
• Act as the escalation point for major incidents and service issues.
• Monitor cloud consumption dashboards and respond to alerts to prevent performance bottlenecks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related IT discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in IT operations, infrastructure, and service delivery.
• ITIL certification.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with incident, problem, and change management processes (ITIL).
• Practical exposure to business continuity and disaster‑recovery operations, including backup management and DR drills.
• Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, networking, and cloud platforms (IaaS/SaaS).
• Analytical, troubleshooting, and root‑cause analysis capabilities.
• Experience with cloud adoption initiatives, workload migration, optimization, and cost control.
• Proficiency with cloud monitoring tools and alert configuration.
