Student Support Specialist – Academic Intervention & ESL

About the role

Nord Anglia Education is seeking a Student Support Specialist to join Etqan Global Academy in Doha. The role focuses on delivering targeted academic interventions for students identified through the school's Multi‑Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) and providing English as a Second Language instruction for multilingual learners.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver targeted academic intervention to MTSS‑identified students.
• Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 literacy and mathematics support in small‑group or individualized settings.
• Plan and deliver English as a Second Language (ESL) instruction for identified multilingual learners.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to design, implement, and monitor differentiated instructional strategies and accommodations.
• Monitor student progress using data sources such as MAP Growth and classroom assessments.
• Develop, implement, and review Student Support Plans in partnership with teachers and families.
• Participate in Student Support Team meetings, case reviews, and collaborative planning sessions.
• Communicate student progress and support strategies to teachers, parents, and school leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
• Valid teaching qualification or license recognized by the school.
• Experience supporting students with diverse learning needs in an inclusive setting.
• Experience delivering literacy and/or mathematics intervention.
• Experience teaching English as a Second Language (ESL/EAL) is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of MTSS/RTI, differentiated instruction, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and inclusive educational practices.
• Ability to use student assessment data to inform instruction and monitor progress.
• Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills.
