Teacher of English (Secondary) - Maternity Cover

About the role

Nord Anglia International School Al Khor is looking for a Teacher of English (Secondary) to cover maternity leave. The school is a growing, successful institution in Al Khor, 35 minutes north of Doha, educating over 1,350 students aged 3-18. The start date is Sunday, 17 January 2027; applications close on 19 November 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver a fit-for-purpose curriculum based on the UK National Curriculum, preparing students for IGSCE/AS-A level external examinations.
• Teach English subject content while supporting English language development across the whole curriculum.
• Plan individualised pathways for all learners, adapting to different prior achievement and knowledge.
• Share best practice and strategies with colleagues and contribute to departmental development.

Required profile

• University degree in your specialist subject.
• Teaching qualification.
• Considerable teaching experience and knowledge of the curriculum.
• Ability to meet Qatar's visa requirements, including a Bachelor's degree and a teaching qualification from a face-to-face (non-online) course.
• Strong motivation, communication skills and openness to feedback and change.
