Technical Support Engineer

About the role

ABYAT, the largest retail store in the Middle East, is seeking a Technical Support Engineer to ensure the availability, reliability and performance of end‑user devices, Microsoft services and retail technology across its Qatar operations. The role is the first point of contact for technical incidents and service requests, delivering exceptional customer service and supporting business continuity.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line technical support for hardware, software, operating systems and peripheral devices across all ABYAT locations.
• Manage and resolve incidents and service requests through the IT ticketing system while meeting service‑level expectations.
• Administer Active Directory – create user accounts, manage access, update group memberships and handle onboarding/off‑boarding.
• Support Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Teams, Office) and troubleshoot related user and email issues.
• Diagnose and resolve Windows OS, desktop, laptop, printer and workstation problems.
• Perform first‑level network troubleshooting (connectivity, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, LAN, wireless).
• Support Point of Sale (POS) systems, receipt printers and barcode scanners.

Required profile

• Minimum 24 months (2 years) of experience providing first‑line technical support in a retail or corporate environment.
• Proven ability to handle incidents and service requests using an IT ticketing system.
• Experience with user onboarding/off‑boarding and maintaining business continuity.
