Technical Support Manager – Completions & Wellbore Interventions

About the role

This position is for an experienced Technical Support Engineer who will be based at the Qatar Gas headquarters in Doha. The role focuses on providing engineering support for wellbore completions and intervention products, acting as the technical bridge between the customer and GE’s engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engineering support for all active customer contracts and product performance.
• Develop and review Technical Operating Manuals, hook‑up drawings, operating procedures, system limits, decision matrices, and Tubemove models with customers and GE Houston teams.
• Define equipment specifications, ratings, and running procedures to meet customer requirements.
• Conduct technical training for customers and GE employees.
• Assist in well‑specific job design and pre‑tender technical proposals.
• Introduce new technologies and collaborate with product lines for implementation.
• Provide troubleshooting support for rig operations and investigate product performance issues.
• Ensure all activities comply with GE HSE policies and legal requirements.
• Manage special projects as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in wellbore construction and intervention.
• Strong knowledge of open‑hole fishing, wellbore clean‑out, remedial and simulation, through‑tubing inflatables, casing exits, and both open‑hole and cased‑hole completions.
• Proven ability to work independently and within a team.
• Excellent time‑management and problem‑solving skills.

Required skills

• Wellbore construction product expertise (open‑hole fishing, clean‑out, inflatables, etc.).
• Downhole hydraulics analysis.
• Torque & Drag calculations.
• Tubemove modeling.
• Development of Technical Operating Manuals and hook‑up drawings.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.
