Tendering Engineer – Grid Automation & Substation Solutions

About the role

The Tendering Engineer will lead the end‑to‑end bid process for grid automation and substation automation projects. You will translate customer requirements into compliant technical proposals, work closely with internal teams and external partners, and ensure that each bid meets commercial, technical and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full proposal lifecycle from RFQ analysis to final submission.
• Perform technical analysis of customer needs and define solutions using DS Agile, G500, GPG, AAA, Cyber Security, MiCOM and Multilin product families.
• Package offers with Telecom and Measurement & Diagnostics scopes where required.
• Identify key risks, record them in the Risk & Opportunity register and define mitigation plans.
• Conduct site assessments for brownfield and existing substations.
• Maintain tendering tools, typical circuit schematics and cost models for future reuse.
• Review and respond to technical clarifications, support order booking and ensure budget margins.
• Lead internal tender reviews, coordinate transfer meetings and hand over documentation to operations.
• Analyse costing and pricing, maintain tender hit‑rate metrics and manage third‑party quotes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in tendering for power‑system or grid‑automation projects.
• Strong understanding of substation automation standards and telecom integration.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Effective communication and collaboration with sales, engineering and operations teams.
