Vice-President, Academics

About the role

The University of Doha for Science & Technology (UDST) seeks a senior academic leader to provide executive oversight of its Academic Affairs. Reporting to the President, the Vice‑President, Academics will drive the university’s teaching and learning strategy and ensure alignment with UDST’s mission and Qatar’s National Vision 2030.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of a university‑wide academic strategy that supports UDST’s technical and vocational mission.
• Advise the President on academic policies, plans, and procedures to execute the strategic plan.
• Build and maintain internal and external relationships, representing UDST on local, regional, and international committees and boards.
• Oversee the identification, development, and maintenance of high‑quality, market‑relevant technical and applied programs.
• Ensure the creation and enforcement of policies, procedures, and guidelines related to institutional delivery and academics.
• Monitor division performance against established KPIs and report findings regularly.
• Develop and manage the academic annual budget in collaboration with finance teams.

Required profile

• Minimum 180 months (15 years) of experience in higher‑education leadership or academic administration.
• Proven ability to advise senior university executives on strategic academic matters.
• Demonstrated experience building partnerships with external stakeholders and serving on academic committees.
• Track record of developing and implementing academic programs and strategies.
• Experience monitoring performance metrics and managing academic budgets.
