Controls & Automation Engineer – Local Support (Qatar)

About the role

The Controls & Automation Engineer will receive specialized training from the OEM, TRI‑SEN, and will act as the local technical point of contact for high‑integrity control systems deployed at customer sites across Qatar. The role involves on‑site support, troubleshooting, and optimisation of automation solutions in demanding industrial environments.

Key responsibilities

• Perform loop checking from field devices and I/O modules through to the HMI/operator interface.
• Verify communication and functionality of serial interfaces, hardware interfaces, OPC systems and associated control logic.
• Carry out PLC‑to‑DCS verification using Modbus communication.
• Assist in commissioning, testing, troubleshooting and validation of control systems.
• Support PID tuning and optimisation for both simple and complex control loops.
• Provide on‑site assistance during shutdowns, start‑ups and emergency situations.
• Coordinate closely with the OEM engineering team, acting as their local extension.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation & Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering (Automation) or Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering.
• 3–5 years of experience in industrial control and automation systems.
• Basic understanding of HMI development and PLC programming.
• Experience with loop checking, control‑logic troubleshooting and commissioning activities.
• Exposure to Oil & Gas, LNG, Petrochemical or Power industries is highly desirable.
