Legal Director

About the role

We are seeking a Legal Director to lead our Corporate Legal team, ensuring robust compliance, managing legal risks, and supporting a wide range of financial and corporate transactions. The role reports to senior management and works closely with the Board to provide strategic legal guidance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic legal advice to senior management and the Board.
• Ensure compliance with financial, banking, and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee corporate governance and internal legal policies.
• Lead drafting, review, and negotiation of contracts and financial agreements.
• Manage legal aspects of M&A, joint ventures, and investment transactions.
• Oversee regulatory filings, licensing, and authority engagements.
• Identify and mitigate legal and regulatory risks.
• Support finance and compliance teams on regulatory matters.
• Liaise with external legal counsel and stakeholders.
• Lead and develop the internal legal team.
• Control legal budgets and external advisory costs.

Required profile

• LLB and LLM degrees (mandatory).
• 15–20 years of overall legal experience.
• Minimum 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven experience in legal entity management, corporate finance, M&A, and regulatory compliance.
• Strong knowledge of corporate and financial laws and banking regulations.
