Senior Budget & Recovery Controller

About the role
The Senior Budget & Recovery Controller will lead the preparation, monitoring and control of departmental budgets within an oil and gas environment. You will ensure accurate financial reporting, track spending against plan and drive cost-recovery initiatives throughout the fiscal year.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, consolidate and maintain annual and periodic budgets for assigned business units.
- Monitor actual expenditures, analyse variances and provide timely financial reports to management.
- Implement cost-control measures and support recovery actions to optimise profitability.
- Collaborate with commercial teams to align budgeting with contract and pricing strategies.
- Maintain and update budgeting tools and systems, ensuring data integrity.
Required profile
- Minimum 4 years of experience in budgeting, costing or planning, preferably within the oil & gas sector.
- At least 3 years in a commercial role focused on cost and planning activities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or Accounting; professional certifications such as CIMA, CPA or equivalent are highly regarded.
Required skills
- Proficiency with SAP (preferred).
- Advanced MS Excel skills and experience with BI analytics tools.
- Strong PC literacy, including MS Word.
