Cake Shop Assistant – Friendly Pastry Counter Role

About the role

The Ned Doha is seeking a warm, enthusiastic Cake Shop Assistant to be the face of its pastry counter. You will welcome guests, present a variety of cakes, pastries and sweet treats, and ensure every visitor enjoys a memorable experience in a luxury hospitality setting.

Key responsibilities

• Greet guests with a friendly, professional demeanor.
• Display and serve cakes, pastries and other items with care and attention to detail.
• Maintain a clean, organized and visually appealing counter.
• Handle orders, payments and basic cashier duties accurately.
• Support the pastry and service teams during peak periods.
• Uphold high standards of hygiene and food‑safety compliance.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a café, bakery or hospitality environment is preferred.
• Excellent customer‑service attitude and strong communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced setting.
• Passion for pastries and desserts.
• Well‑groomed, presentable and detail‑oriented.

Required skills

• Basic cash handling and point‑of‑sale operation.
• Knowledge of food‑safety and hygiene standards.
