Category Specialist – Procurement (Qatar)

About the role

The Category Specialist will support the Head of Category in delivering category strategies for a fertilizer project in Qatar. The role involves leading complex sourcing initiatives, managing supplier relationships and ensuring compliance with the client’s integrated management systems.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and issue Request for Quotations (RFQs) and evaluate supplier bids.
• Issue purchase orders, monitor order progress and follow up with suppliers.
• Support the implementation of category strategies and sourcing projects.
• Maintain awareness of and compliance with Quality, Environment, Occupational Health & Safety, Responsible Care, Energy Management and IFA Product Stewardship systems.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align procurement activities with project objectives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• 3–5 years of direct procurement or category management experience.
• Professional certification such as CIPS or CPSM is an advantage.

Required skills

• RFQ preparation and bid evaluation.
• Purchase order management.
• Supplier relationship management.
• Knowledge of integrated management systems (Quality, Environment, OHS, Responsible Care, Energy Management, IFA Product Stewardship).
