Director of Marketing and Communications

About the role

The Director of Marketing and Communications leads the planning, direction, control and coordination of all communication activities for a prestigious hotel. The role focuses on public relations and aims to enhance the hotel’s image while contributing to revenue growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute an annual communications plan aligned with the hotel’s marketing strategy, including budgets and specific goals.
• Prepare working plans, monitor progress, compare actual results against targets and take corrective actions.
• Oversee mailing activities, maintain the corporate identity manual, and produce monthly communications reports.
• Supervise photography, manage the master slide/photo library, and coordinate with the advertising agency and corporate marketing teams.
• Lead the in‑house art department and monitor competitor activities and industry trends.
• Act as the official spokesperson, respond to media inquiries within 24 hours, and maintain a comprehensive media contact list.
• Prepare press releases, collaborate with corporate and international press offices, and manage community, government and VIP relations.
• Organise hotel‑sponsored events, develop partner relationships and create press promotional activities.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least 4 years of experience in sales, marketing, guest services or related fields, OR a 2‑year degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel & Restaurant Management or a related discipline with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
