Director, Private Banking

About the role

The Director of Private Banking will lead the Private Banking and Retail Banking Group in Qatar, driving growth of the high‑net‑worth client portfolio and ensuring delivery of a full suite of banking products and services.

Key responsibilities

• Optimize the potential value of the client base through delivery of Private Banking products and services and actively identify new customers.
• Communicate with high‑net‑worth (HNW) clients to structure advice based on their needs.
• Partner with other bank professionals to service client needs and maximize bank revenues.
• Maximize profitability from the Private Banking base while countering competition.
• Safeguard the bank from potential loss, AML fraud, and ensure ethical behavior.
• Protect the bank’s reputation by maintaining professional conduct before, during and after sales.
• Enhance market profile and awareness.
• Achieve revenue goals, sales and portfolio growth across products such as investments, term deposits, CASA balances, TCM, FX trading, share financing, etc.
• Acquire new‑to‑bank HNW clients.
• Maintain superior customer service, pre‑empt issues and provide proactive servicing.
• Minimize customer attrition through proactive client contact.

Required profile

• Proven experience in private banking or wealth management at a senior level.
• Strong track record of achieving revenue and portfolio growth targets.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with HNW clients.
• Understanding of AML regulations and risk management.
• Excellent communication and partnership skills across banking functions.
• Commitment to ethical standards and protecting the bank’s reputation.
