Head of Health Emergency Response

About the role

The Head of Health Emergency Response leads a dedicated team to develop, implement and continuously improve the state’s early response policies for health emergencies. This senior position ensures that guidelines, resources and partnerships are in place to effectively manage crises and protect public health.

Key responsibilities

• Define and develop general guidelines for responding to health emergencies, ensuring policies, standards, guidelines and directories are created, disseminated and regularly updated.
• Develop strategic guidelines for programs and projects related to health emergency response and oversee their successful on‑the‑ground implementation.
• Supervise training policies and educational courses that support the health emergency response system.
• Design and implement an efficient mobilization system to allocate human, material and financial resources during emergencies and disasters.
• Provide technical and advisory assistance to relevant bodies and partners in health emergency situations.
• Establish and nurture a network of partners, creating partnership policies that strengthen response capabilities.
• Design and maintain a monitoring and evaluation system to track response activities.
• Develop advocacy, support and endorsement strategies to reinforce response systems within community settings.
• Conduct research and studies aimed at improving health emergency response mechanisms.
• Define strategies to ensure the effectiveness of the Operations Center, including the development, testing, publishing and updating of health emergency plans.
• Perform additional duties as required to meet organizational needs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in medicine with a specialization in health emergency medicine, public health, community medicine, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of experience in health emergency management, with a minimum of 4 years in a leadership role.
