Lead Compliance and Controls Officer

About the role

The Lead Compliance and Controls Officer is responsible for establishing, maintaining and enhancing robust compliance and control frameworks for Qatar Duty Free. This role safeguards the company’s reputation, minimizes operational risks and promotes a culture of integrity, transparency and ethical conduct across all business functions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures in collaboration with cross‑functional teams.
• Conduct regular assessments, audits and monitoring to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies and industry best practices.
• Identify, assess and prioritize compliance, operational, financial, fraud and reputational risks and design mitigation action plans.
• Support internal and external audit programmes, providing required documentation and liaising with auditors.
• Lead investigations into potential compliance breaches and recommend corrective actions.
• Deliver compliance training and awareness programmes across all employee levels.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience, preferably in travel retail, food & beverage or audit.
• Proven experience in developing, implementing and reviewing policies and procedures.
• Strong analytical ability, attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office applications.
• Fluent command of the English language.
