Lead Planner – EPC (Oil & Gas Pipeline Projects)

About the role

The Lead Planner will head planning, scheduling and project control for EPC pipeline projects in the oil & gas sector. You will develop and maintain integrated master schedules that cover engineering, procurement, construction, pre‑commissioning and commissioning activities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and control the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) using Primavera P6.
• Lead planning for engineering, procurement, right‑of‑way, construction spreads, pre‑commissioning and commissioning.
• Establish planning strategies, construction sequencing, productivity assumptions and schedule logic.
• Monitor progress, critical path, productivity and schedule performance; identify risks and propose mitigation or recovery actions.
• Validate progress, baseline changes and forecasts to ensure schedule accuracy and contractual compliance.
• Prepare weekly and monthly planning reports, including S‑curves, manpower histograms and recovery plans.
• Assess schedule impacts from variations, delays or productivity losses and support EOT and claims.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, QA/QC, HSE, cost control and subcontractors to keep an integrated schedule.
• Lead planning meetings and review subcontractor schedules for alignment with project goals.
• Manage, mentor and develop Planning Engineers to ensure high‑quality deliverables.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or related field.
• Professional certification (PMP, PMI‑SP, AACE PSP) preferred.
• 10–12 years of planning and scheduling experience in EPC projects, with at least 5 years on oil & gas pipeline projects.
• Extensive use of Primavera P6 for schedule development, baseline management and critical‑path analysis.
• Strong knowledge of linear construction planning, ROW activities, tie‑ins, hydro‑testing and commissioning.
• Experience in schedule risk analysis, progress measurement, recovery planning and delay analysis.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI for reporting and dashboard creation.
