Legal Specialist

About the role

The Legal Specialist will support Hamad International Airport and Qatar Airways Group by reviewing, drafting, and negotiating a wide range of contracts. The role requires close collaboration with internal departments and the Qatar Airways Group Legal Department to ensure compliance with applicable laws and minimise risk.

Key responsibilities

• Review contractual templates from a contract‑law perspective across multiple jurisdictions, including Qatar and England & Wales.
• Negotiate and draft commercial agreements, supplier contracts, and service contracts for facilities management, IT, manpower supply, equipment, and professional services.
• Identify and escalate commercial and legal risks, resolve disputes, and suggest improvements to contracting processes.
• Manage external counsel and review third‑party terms and conditions.
• Support internal stakeholders throughout the RFP process, selecting appropriate legal terms, negotiating deviations, and preparing final contract packages.
• Perform additional departmental duties as directed by the Head of Department.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with a minimum of six years of relevant experience.
• Qualified lawyer in a recognised jurisdiction.
• Experience working in a law firm or dedicated legal environment.
• Strong commercial legal knowledge, especially in corporate and construction law.
