Maintenance Preservation Supervisor

About the role

Saipem is seeking a Maintenance Preservation Supervisor to join the Commissioning Department of the COMP2 Project. You will be responsible for implementing and overseeing the preservation of static and rotating equipment, piping, electrical & instrumentation components, and related tools.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and manage the Project Preservation Plan for all equipment and tools.
• Maintain equipment logs in a Preservation Management System (e.g., Hexagon, WinPCS).
• Monitor environmental conditions and report any deterioration to warehouse and site managers.
• Supervise short‑ and long‑term storage of mechanical, EIT, capital spare, and special‑tool equipment.
• Ensure preservation activities are recorded and available until formal equipment transfer.
• Verify that preservation is performed correctly and documented in the database.
• Confirm tools and equipment meet preservation requirements.
• Provide daily reports to the Preservation Lead.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical discipline.
• 5–10 years of experience in oil & gas or large‑scale EPC projects.
• Strong leadership, communication, and reporting abilities.
• Ability to work in a complex, multicultural environment.
• Proficiency in English.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of preservation techniques such as Vapour Corrosion Inhibitors (VCI), nitrogen blanketing, and protective coatings.
• Interpretation of material datasheets and risk‑hazard mitigation related to preservation.
• Experience with preservation management systems (Hexagon, WinPCS or similar).
• Competence in word processing, database management, spreadsheets, and email communications.
