Medical Attaché (Abroad – Qatarization)

About the role

The Medical Attaché acts as the primary representative of Qatar’s health diplomacy in selected overseas medical offices (Bonn, London, Thailand, Washington). The role ensures Qatari patients receive coordinated care, logistical support, and continuous follow‑up throughout their treatment abroad.

Key responsibilities

• Accompany patients traveling abroad for treatment, providing logistical and emotional support.
• Identify and select suitable medical facilities for each patient’s condition.
• Arrange airport transfers, local transportation, and accommodation for patients and escorts.
• Provide interpretation services and translate medical reports between English and Arabic.
• Review medical invoices, verify reports and sick leaves, and oversee payment processing.
• Maintain a comprehensive database of patients, treatments, costs, and outcomes.
• Ensure safety of patients and escorts during travel and repatriation.
• Coordinate visa extensions and other paperwork with relevant authorities.
• Procure medication and medical aids required during treatment abroad.
• Prepare and submit periodic performance reports to the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) covering clinical outcomes, complaints, and improvement opportunities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD degree in Medical/Biology, Health Care Management, Public Health or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Relevant professional experience in international patient coordination, health diplomacy, or similar roles, with the grade level determined by the combination of education and experience.
