MYP English Teacher – IB Middle Years Programme

About the role

Nord Anglia Education is seeking a passionate MYP English Teacher to join Etqan Global Academy in Doha. The successful candidate will deliver the IB Middle Years Programme Language & Literature curriculum, fostering confident, critical readers and communicators.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver concept‑driven Language & Literature lessons aligned with the MYP framework and global contexts.
• Design inquiry‑based learning experiences that develop reading, writing, critical thinking and communication skills.
• Assess student work using MYP criteria, provide constructive feedback and support eAssessment preparation.
• Integrate ATL skills and a love of reading throughout teaching.
• Serve as a Form Tutor and contribute to the pastoral life of the school.
• Collaborate with the English department and wider school community.

Required profile

• Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, B.Ed or equivalent) and a degree in English, Language & Literature or related field.
• Proven experience teaching Language & Literature or English in an IB MYP setting.
• Strong knowledge of the MYP Language & Literature curriculum, assessment criteria and eAssessment.
• Excellent literacy skills and genuine passion for language and literature.
• Effective classroom management, communication skills and commitment to safeguarding.

Required skills

• Ability to design and deliver inquiry‑based, differentiated lessons.
