Principal AI Ops Architect – Global Public Sector

About the role

Scale’s Global Public Sector team is building AI solutions that serve millions of citizens worldwide. As a Principal AI Ops Architect you will own the production lifecycle of full‑stack AI applications, ensuring reliability, security, and compliance for international government partners.

Key responsibilities

• Take full accountability for long‑term performance and reliability of AI use cases deployed across government agencies.
• Oversee end‑to‑end platform health, integrating AI core with APIs, UI, and backend services.
• Build automated monitoring for model performance, data drift, and observability across dispersed environments.
• Navigate diverse regulatory frameworks and manage sovereign data orchestration.
• Lead incident response for mission‑critical production issues and implement preventive guardrails.
• Translate technical metrics into clear insights for senior international officials.
• Partner with Engineering and ML teams to feed field lessons back into architecture and future product decisions.

Required profile

• 6+ years in a high‑impact technical role such as SRE, FDE, or MLOps.
• Experience working with public‑sector or government customers.
• Familiarity with international government security standards and sovereign AI deployments.
• Proven ability to maintain production‑grade applications across the full request lifecycle.
• Strong ownership mindset and proactive problem‑solving attitude.
