Senior Construction Lawyer – Doha, Qatar

About the role

Our client, a leading law firm in Doha, is seeking a Senior Construction Lawyer to join its growing practice. The successful candidate will advise a diverse client base on both contentious and non‑contentious construction matters and will play a key role in managing complex disputes.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate construction and engineering contracts.
• Advise on major construction and infrastructure projects.
• Handle construction disputes, including litigation, arbitration and other dispute‑resolution mechanisms.
• Provide counsel on contractual claims, extensions of time, delay, disruption, defects and payment issues.
• Manage complex construction disputes from inception through to resolution.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, developers, consultants and other project stakeholders.
• Support business development and contribute to the growth of the construction practice.

Required profile

• 8+ years post‑qualification experience as a qualified lawyer.
• Strong specialist experience in construction law, covering both contentious and non‑contentious work.
• Proven track record in construction litigation and/or arbitration.
• Excellent commercial drafting and negotiation abilities.
• Experience advising on complex construction projects and contractual disputes.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and effectively within a team.
• Experience in the GCC or wider Middle East region is advantageous.
