Senior Consultant – Neurosurgery

About the role

The Senior Consultant – Neurosurgery leads a team of consultants and junior doctors, delivering high‑quality patient care while overseeing clinical decisions and service development within the department.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care, diagnose, treat, and admit patients under personal clinical privileges.
• Supervise and mentor consultants, junior doctors, and other team members, ensuring safe and effective clinical decisions.
• Collaborate with the Department Chair or Section Head on service development, budgeting, staffing, and resource allocation.
• Lead teaching activities and training programmes for junior doctors.
• Drive academic and research initiatives aligned with departmental priorities.

Required profile

• Western medical qualification (UK, USA, Canada, Australia or equivalent).
• Minimum 5 years post‑qualification experience in Neurosurgery, including cerebrovascular and skull‑base surgery.
• Valid medical license/registration in home country and eligibility for licensing in Qatar.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork abilities.
• Commitment to patient safety, clinical excellence, and high standards of care.
