AB Seaman – Vessel Crew Member

About the role

Join the crew of Banana Island Resort Doha by Anantara as an AB Seaman. You will work closely with the skipper to ensure safe navigation, passenger comfort, and vessel readiness for daily operations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the skipper with all delegated tasks and maintain a vigilant lookout in the wheelhouse.
• Participate in emergency drills, respond to incidents, and report unsafe activities.
• Carry out cleaning duties, ensure sufficient cleaning supplies, and wash the vessel after each trip.
• Keep luggage compartments tidy, prepare passenger manifests, and manage lost‑and‑found items.
• Perform proper berthing, un‑berthing, and line handling procedures.
• Maintain personal hygiene, uniform condition, and hand over duties to the next shift.

Required profile

• Valid AB Seaman certification (CDC with AB (II/4) qualification, STCW, and fit‑to‑work medical report).
• Proven experience as an AB Seaman, preferably in hospitality or marine tourism.
• Basic understanding of vessel navigation and seamanship.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and knowledge of safety and emergency protocols.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in varying weather conditions.
