Accident Investigation Engineer (Roads O&M)

About the role

The Accident Investigation Engineer will lead investigations of road traffic accidents within Egis’ project network, identify root causes, and propose corrective measures to enhance road safety and reduce accident frequency and severity.

Key responsibilities

• Attend accident locations as required and conduct detailed investigations across the project road network.
• Collect and analyse accident data from police reports, CCTV footage, site inspections and witness statements.
• Identify contributing factors such as roadway geometry, signage, pavement condition, lighting, traffic control devices and driver behaviour.
• Prepare comprehensive investigation reports with findings, diagrams and recommendations.
• Analyse accident trends, maintain an accident database and produce statistical reports.
• Conduct road‑safety inspections and audits to pinpoint potential hazards.
• Recommend engineering improvements including signage upgrades, traffic‑calming measures, junction enhancements, lighting, barriers and speed‑management solutions.
• Liaise with traffic police, road authorities and emergency services and support client reporting on road‑safety performance.

Required profile

• Proven experience in investigating road traffic accidents.
• Familiarity with road‑safety standards, international best practices and O&M contractual obligations.
• Ability to work closely with traffic police, road authorities and emergency services.
• Strong analytical and reporting capabilities.
