Assistant Chief Steward

About the role

The Assistant Chief Steward supports the stewarding team in delivering efficient clean‑up and banquet operations at a leading hotel in Doha. This full‑time, onsite position ensures high standards of hygiene, equipment maintenance, and guest service within the Food & Beverage department.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and assist stewards to optimise clean‑up processes.
• Monitor water temperature and chemical levels for cleaning, documenting compliance.
• Assist with banquet plate‑ups and support cooks with required items.
• Transport and stock banquet and buffet areas, ensuring adequate supplies.
• Return cleaned items to their proper locations.
• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment such as dishwashing machines, hand‑wash stations, pot‑scrubbing stations and trash compactors.
• Support management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating and coaching staff.
• Adhere to company safety, security and uniform policies, reporting any incidents.
• Provide courteous guest service and maintain professional communication.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in stewarding or hospitality operations.
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
• No specific license or certification required.
