Audit Specialist

About the role

Leads, plans and executes complex internal audits to assess the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, the accuracy of reported information and compliance with policies and procedures within QatarEnergy LNG.

Key responsibilities

• Report significant changes identified during audits to the Head of Audit to ensure comprehensive coverage.
• Contribute to risk assessment and audit plan development, prioritising key activities for review.
• Plan and scope complex audits, prepare risk assessments and obtain approval from senior audit leadership.
• Coordinate audit teams, conduct fieldwork, test controls and verify compliance with policies and procedures.
• Prepare internal audit reports, progress updates and early findings, and review reports prepared by other auditors.
• Follow up on prior audit observations to confirm implementation of agreed actions and supervise related work.
• Train and develop auditors on internal audit standards, processes and report writing.
• Support shareholder and external audits and conduct special reviews as requested by senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience in the oil & gas industry, including internal audit, compliance, risk management or inspection roles, with a minimum of 3 years in middle‑management or supervisory positions.
• Strong knowledge of oil & gas/LNG business processes, key risks and controls.
• Good awareness of corporate governance and risk management frameworks.
