Biology Teaching Assistant (1‑year)

About the role

The Biological Sciences Program at Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar is seeking a dedicated individual for a 1‑year Teaching Assistant position. You will support introductory biology and biochemistry courses, working closely with faculty and the Area Head to enhance the learning experience.

Key responsibilities

• Attend and assist in classroom sessions, workshops, and lab activities.
• Collaborate with instructors to develop projects, assignments, and course materials.
• Grade assignments, projects, and exams, providing constructive feedback.
• Offer one‑on‑one research support to students.
• Plan and help execute educational and outreach events.
• Hold regular office hours for student assistance.
• Proctor exams and perform other duties related to the campus’s education and research mission.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Biology.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with diverse student groups.
• Enthusiasm for teaching and supporting student research.

Required skills

• Knowledge of biological sciences concepts.
• Familiarity with laboratory equipment and classroom technology.
