Chief Accountant – Real Estate

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Chief Accountant to lead the finance function for our real‑estate portfolio. The role will ensure accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and strategic insight for property‑related operations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in line with company policies and accounting standards.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis for real‑estate projects, properties and business units.
• Oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations, including general ledger, AP/AR, bank reconciliations and property‑related accounts.
• Monitor financial transactions linked to leasing, rental income, service charges, maintenance and operating expenses.
• Assist in tracking project and property budgets, cash flows and performance metrics.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, regulations, accounting standards and audit requirements.
• Coordinate with external auditors and provide documentation for property and project accounts.
• Analyse property financial performance, identify variances, cost trends and improvement opportunities.
• Contribute to reporting enhancements, process optimisation and internal control strengthening.
• Collaborate with Property Management, Leasing, Development and other departments on financial matters.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
• CPA, ACCA or CMA preferred.
• Minimum 6 years of accounting/finance experience, preferably in real‑estate, property management or construction.
• Demonstrated supervisory or senior analyst experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting and analysis.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
• Advanced Excel skills.
