Cloud Database Administrator

About the role

We are looking for a highly skilled Cloud Database Administrator to manage, optimise and secure enterprise‑scale database environments across on‑premises, Azure and Google Cloud platforms. The role ensures reliability, scalability and operational excellence for mission‑critical applications, data warehouses and analytics solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, upgrade and maintain SQL Server and cloud database platforms on‑premises, Azure and GCP.
• Manage the full database lifecycle: provisioning, patching, backup, recovery, migrations and health‑checks.
• Support hybrid and multi‑cloud environments, administering Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, Microsoft Fabric and Google Cloud database services.
• Design, implement and test high‑availability and disaster‑recovery solutions, including replication, clustering and failover mechanisms.
• Monitor performance, conduct query optimisation, indexing and capacity planning to meet growth requirements.
• Provide support for enterprise data‑warehouse and analytics platforms, handling data refresh and loading processes.
• Apply security controls such as access management, encryption, auditing and vulnerability remediation to ensure compliance.

Required profile

• 6–8 years of hands‑on database administration in enterprise settings.
• Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server in high‑availability configurations.
• Proven work with hybrid and multi‑cloud databases, especially Azure and GCP.
• Experience in backup/recovery, replication, performance tuning and automation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or a related discipline.
