Commis Chef – Hotel Kitchen

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Commis Chef to join the pre‑opening kitchen team at voco Doha Central. This is an opportunity to develop culinary skills in a dynamic hotel environment while contributing to memorable dining experiences for our guests.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of food items according to established recipes and standards.
• Prepare ingredients, mise en place, and set up workstations for daily operations.
• Support the Chef de Partie and Demi Chef de Partie to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
• Maintain consistency in food quality, portioning, and presentation.
• Follow HACCP, food safety, and hygiene procedures at all times.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen areas, equipment, and storage facilities.
• Assist with stock rotation, inventory control, and minimizing food waste.
• Support banquet, catering, and special event operations as required.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Commis Chef or relevant culinary experience in a hotel, restaurant, or catering environment.
• Passion for food and a willingness to learn and develop professionally.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Positive attitude and commitment to delivering quality results.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
• Understanding of food hygiene and safety standards (HACCP).
