About the role
The Commis III supports the banquet kitchen by preparing ingredients, cooking dishes, and maintaining a clean work environment. This full‑time position reports to the kitchen supervisor and follows The Ritz‑Carlton Gold Standards.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients – portion, chop, weigh, store, and wash fresh fruits and vegetables.
- Cook and assemble dishes according to recipes, quality and presentation standards.
- Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers, and test foods for doneness.
- Monitor food quality, temperature of appliances and food, and ensure proper portioning.
- Set up and break down work stations, serve food onto appropriate receptacles, and maintain sanitation of kitchen areas, tools and equipment.
Required profile
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- At least 12 months of related food‑and‑beverage experience.
- No supervisory experience required.
Required skills
- Food preparation and cooking.
- Chopping, weighing, portioning and storing food.
- Operation of ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
- Temperature monitoring and food safety compliance.
