Deputy Risk and Compliance Manager

About the role

Al Khaleej Takaful Insurance is looking for an experienced compliance professional to lead its Compliance and AML/CFT activities. The role requires sound judgment, independence and the ability to work across the business to manage regulatory risk.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee implementation and regular review of AML/CFT policies, procedures, systems and controls.
• Monitor compliance with applicable laws, regulations and internal policies, investigating and addressing identified concerns.
• Receive and assess internal suspicious transaction reports and fulfil related reporting responsibilities.
• Act as a point of contact for relevant authorities on AML/CFT matters.
• Report significant compliance matters, breaches and corrective actions to senior management and the Board.
• Keep the organisation informed of regulatory developments and support compliance and AML/CFT training.

Required profile

• A degree in Business Administration, Finance, Law or a related discipline.
• 5–10 years of relevant experience, including 2–4 years in a comparable role.
• Strong knowledge of AML/CFT requirements and compliance practices in a regulated financial institution.
• Ability to investigate complex issues, communicate clearly with senior stakeholders and handle confidential matters with discretion.
• Experience in insurance is preferred.
• CAMS certification or an equivalent AML qualification is an advantage.
• Bilingual in English and Arabic.
