Director of Catering Sales

About the role

The Director of Catering Sales leads the catering sales function for a luxury hotel, driving long‑term, value‑based relationships with group customers and ensuring the property meets its sales objectives. The role combines strategic planning, revenue optimisation and hands‑on support for complex accounts.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute catering sales strategies, creating plans that target revenue, customers and market segments.
• Lead and coach the catering sales team, set booking goals, monitor daily activities and approve space releases to maximise revenue.
• Participate in sales calls, prepare proposals, contracts and manage post‑event follow‑up to ensure client satisfaction.
• Analyse market data and financial reports, work with Revenue Management on forecasts and six‑period projections.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders (HR, Engineering, Loss Prevention) and external partners, attending trade shows and customer events.
• Oversee recruitment, training and performance feedback for both management and hourly staff.

Required profile

• 2‑year degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel & Restaurant Management or related field with 8 years of sales/marketing experience, OR a 4‑year bachelor’s degree with 6 years of experience.
• Proven ability to lead a sales team, drive revenue growth and manage complex catering accounts in a luxury hospitality environment.
