Director of Finance – Luxury Hotel

About the role

The Director of Finance will lead the financial function of a premier luxury hotel, ensuring robust financial performance, compliance with policies and regulations, and alignment with the management agreement. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this senior leader will partner with internal and external stakeholders to maximise profitability for owners and shareholders.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee financial accounting, reporting, and internal controls to safeguard assets and meet statutory, owner and company requirements.
• Develop and deliver timely management information, performance reports, KPIs, benchmarking and balanced scorecards.
• Provide financial and commercial advice to the General Manager and support business development, pricing and strategic decisions.
• Lead strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting and alert the team to emerging business trends.
• Manage cash flow, working capital and bank account controls, ensuring accurate cash forecasts.
• Analyse and control costs, benchmark expenses and identify cost‑reduction opportunities.
• Recruit, develop and lead a high‑performing finance team while maintaining strong employee relations.
• Ensure full compliance with the hotel management agreement and report any non‑compliance.
