Early Years Teacher (Primary)

About the role

The school is seeking a dedicated Early Years Teacher to join its Primary department on a permanent basis. You will be responsible for creating a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment for young learners, fostering curiosity and a love of learning.

Key responsibilities

• Set high expectations that inspire, motivate and challenge pupils of all backgrounds and abilities.
• Establish a respectful, safe classroom atmosphere and plan lessons that build on pupils' prior knowledge.
• Deliver well‑structured, engaging lessons, assign homework and organise out‑of‑class activities to consolidate learning.
• Monitor and be accountable for pupils’ attainment, progress and outcomes, using assessment data to inform planning.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of pupils with special educational needs, high ability, English as an additional language or disabilities.
• Reflect systematically on teaching effectiveness and contribute to curriculum design and resource development.

• Demonstrates a commitment to high standards of literacy, articulacy and correct use of standard English.
• Shows awareness of children’s physical, social and intellectual development and adapts teaching accordingly.
• Encourages pupils to take responsibility for their own work and reflect on their progress.
• Maintains a positive attitude, values and behaviour expected of pupils.
