Engineer I – Maintenance

About the role

The Engineer I provides on‑site maintenance support for guest rooms, kitchen, mechanical rooms and building facilities at a hotel on The Pearl Island in Doha. The role involves responding to repair requests, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring all equipment operates safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to guest repair requests and communicate solutions.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen equipment, and mechanical systems.
• Inspect tools, equipment and machines visually and conduct routine cleaning and lubrication.
• Identify, locate and operate shut‑off valves and utility shut‑offs.
• Maintain inventory, requisition parts and supplies as needed.
• Report daily activities and issues to subsequent shifts using approved communication standards.
• Execute surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood‑trim repairs, and clean work areas.
• Test, troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical components, HVAC filters, lighting, and guestroom items.
• Program televisions, manage housekeeping‑related inventory, and use lockout/tagout procedures before maintenance work.
• Perform interior and exterior landscaping repairs, including sprinkler system maintenance.

Required profile

• Basic knowledge or ability to acquire knowledge in air‑conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation and general building maintenance.
• Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 lb unaided and heavier items with assistance.
• Professional appearance, confidentiality, and adherence to safety and security policies.
