English Teacher – Secondary & IBDP (Permanent)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated English Teacher to join our secondary department on a permanent basis. The role involves delivering high‑quality English instruction to students from Grades 6 through 12, including those following the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) and High School Diploma pathways.

Key responsibilities

• Set high expectations that inspire, motivate and challenge pupils.
• Create a safe, respectful and stimulating learning environment.
• Plan, deliver and assess well‑structured lessons for Grades 6‑8 and Grades 9‑12.
• Monitor and be accountable for pupils’ attainment, progress and outcomes.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including SEN, EAL and high‑ability students.
• Contribute to curriculum design, scheme of work development and departmental resources.
• Provide constructive feedback and guide pupils in reflecting on their learning.
• Promote literacy, articulacy and the correct use of standard English across all subjects.

Required profile

• Proven experience teaching English to Grades 6‑8 (Years 7‑9).
• Proven experience teaching English to Grades 9‑12 (Years 10‑13) within a High School Diploma or IBDP framework.
• Strong knowledge of English curriculum, literature and language development.
• Ability to foster a love of learning and intellectual curiosity.
• Commitment to high standards of student achievement and well‑being.
