Event Lighting Engineer

About the role

The Event Lighting Engineer is a full‑time, on‑site position based in Zone 39, responsible for designing, programming and operating lighting systems for a wide variety of events.

Key responsibilities

• Develop lighting plans that align with event concepts and create mood, atmosphere and visual impact.
• Install, configure and address LED fixtures, control consoles and networking equipment.
• Conduct pre‑event testing, troubleshoot issues and make real‑time adjustments during rehearsals and live shows.
• Coordinate with producers, stage managers and AV technicians to ensure cohesive technical setups.
• Maintain lighting equipment, enforce safety standards and support post‑event breakdown and inventory management.

Required profile

• Strong background in lighting design for live events and large‑scale productions.
• Experience with lighting control consoles, software and control networks.
• Proficiency with LED lighting systems and outdoor/street lighting power distribution.
• Ability to read technical drawings, stage plots and lighting plans and translate them into practical installations.
• Previous experience in event production, stagecraft or technical theatre, preferably in corporate or large‑scale events.
