Freelance PR Director – Tourism Promotion & New Business Development

About the role

We are seeking a Freelance PR Director to lead tourism promotion and new‑business development for a globally recognised tourism board in Doha. The role combines strategic communication, market development and team leadership within mc Group’s integrated agency environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support and coordinate all marketing activities related to tourism promotion for the client.
• Identify, develop and evaluate communication strategies for governments, tourism boards, businesses and sports organisations across Qatar, GCC and MENA.
• Drive new‑business acquisition and expand mc Group’s presence in the Qatar market.
• Provide strategic counsel, create toolkits and lead in‑house projects, applying strategic analysis and project‑management expertise.
• Act as external press service, distribute press releases to B2B and B2C audiences and maintain media relations.
• Analyse market trends in Qatar, GCC and MENA and report insights.
• Manage and brief cross‑functional teams including media planning, PR, social media, events and digital.
• Prepare, monitor and control budgets, costs and KPIs.
• Negotiate contracts with internal units and maintain continuous contact with media and distribution channels.

Required profile

• Strong, confident and empathetic communication style.
• In‑depth knowledge of the PR and communication market in Qatar, GCC and MENA.
• Minimum five years of professional PR/communication experience.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
• Proven ability to take responsibility, manage clients and external providers.
• Excellent verbal and written English.
