Future Pathways Advisor

About the role

The Future Pathways Advisor will support the implementation of Hamilton’s whole‑school Futures programme for grades 6‑12. Working closely with the Assistant Head, the role ensures that students receive coherent guidance on academic, vocational and entrepreneurial pathways and are equipped to make informed decisions about their futures.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and monitor the Futures programme in line with ISP benchmarks.
• Deliver futures learning across all grades, ensuring progression and coherence.
• Provide one‑to‑one and group guidance on global university admissions, subject choices, personal statements, CVs, scholarships and financial aid.
• Track and manage university applications and student destinations using the school’s designated platform.
• Deliver curriculum‑aligned lessons, workshops and assemblies on futures‑related topics.
• Build and maintain partnerships with local and international universities, employers and industry professionals.
• Coordinate careers events, university fairs and guest‑speaker programmes.
• Lead the day‑to‑day use of the careers and destinations platform (e.g., Unifrog), tracking engagement and outcomes.
• Collaborate with subject leads and teachers to embed futures learning into the curriculum.

Required profile

• Experience in career, university or futures guidance within an educational setting.
• Strong knowledge of global university admissions systems (UK, US, Europe, Asia, etc.).
• Ability to work with students, families and staff to develop clear pathway plans.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with a careers and destinations platform such as Unifrog.
• Data tracking and reporting to inform programme improvements.
• Delivery of workshops, presentations and curriculum‑linked lessons.
