Head of Construction

About the role

The Head of Construction leads a multi‑disciplinary construction team to ensure efficient, systematic project execution in line with engineering best practices and company objectives. This role serves as the primary point of reference for resolving technical issues during the execution phase and provides constructability input for new plant or facility modifications.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, manage and organise section activities to meet schedule, scope, specification and cost targets.
• Coordinate work scopes across departments and disciplines during construction and shutdown projects.
• Set performance targets, provide feedback, motivate staff and participate in recruitment.
• Ensure construction complies with regulatory requirements, standards and good engineering practices.
• Implement comprehensive safety programs and conduct safety walkthroughs and toolbox talks.
• Monitor project execution process and cost, review shutdown plans and optimise construction manpower and equipment.
• Liaise with plant sections and advise on change orders and contractor claims.
• Supervise day‑to‑day construction activities, resolve issues and ensure site hazard mitigation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 10+ years progressive experience in Fertilizer, Petrochemical or Oil & Gas, including at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
