Head of Information Security – Qatari National

About the role

The Head of Information Security is the executive accountable for protecting the organisation’s information assets. Reporting to senior management, this role defines the security strategy, manages risks and ensures compliance with Qatar’s regulatory framework.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive information security strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Lead risk assessment, threat management and incident response across the enterprise.
• Ensure compliance with NCSA, NIA, CIIP, PDPPL and other relevant regulations.
• Advise executive leadership and the board on security matters and strategic initiatives.
• Foster a security‑aware culture and promote best practices throughout the organisation.
• Oversee third‑party and vendor security governance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 10 years of experience in information security or cyber risk management.
• 3–5 years of experience leading an information security function at an executive level.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Qatar’s regulatory frameworks (NCSA, NIA, CIIP, PDPPL).
• Proven ability to influence senior executives, boards and key stakeholders.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary teams in high‑pressure situations.
