Head of Information Security (Qatari National)

About the role

The Head of Information Security is responsible for safeguarding the organisation's information assets by defining a comprehensive security strategy and managing risks and threats. This senior executive role provides leadership to create a secure, resilient operating environment and aligns security objectives with business priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and align the information security strategy with corporate objectives.
• Establish and maintain a security governance framework and related policies.
• Identify, assess, and manage security risks across the organisation.
• Promote security awareness and a culture of accountability.
• Provide executive oversight during major security incidents and crises.
• Ensure compliance with Qatar regulatory frameworks (NCSA, NIA, CIIP, PDPPL) and governance requirements.
• Report regularly to executive leadership on security posture, risks, and strategic priorities.
• Coordinate security activities with business leaders and oversee third‑party security risks.
• Define security metrics, manage the security budget, and chair the security governance committee.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity or related field (Master’s degree advantageous).
• Qatari National (mandatory).
• 10+ years of experience in information security or cyber risk management.
• 3–5 years leading an information security function or advising at executive level.
• Proven experience defining security strategies aligned with business goals.
• Deep knowledge of Qatar’s regulatory frameworks (NCSA, NIA, CIIP, PDPPL).
• Strong ability to engage and influence executive management and boards.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams.
