Head of Secondary – IB Middle Years Programme

About the role

Nord Anglia Education is seeking a dynamic Head of Secondary to lead the newly established Etqan Global Academy (EGA) in Doha, Qatar. The role will shape the vision and delivery of the IB Middle Years Programme, fostering academic excellence and an international‑minded learning culture.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership aligned with the IB MYP philosophy and EGA’s School Strategic Plan.
• Champion concept‑driven, inquiry‑based teaching and learning across all secondary year groups.
• Lead, mentor and develop a high‑performing secondary teaching team through coaching, appraisal and CPD.
• Drive whole‑school improvement using data analysis, monitoring, evaluation and self‑review processes.
• Build strong relationships with students, parents and the wider school community.
• Collaborate with the Principal, MYP Coordinator and SLT to implement the School Improvement Plan.
• Oversee timetabling, curriculum planning and academic reporting for the secondary school.
• Ensure excellent student welfare, pastoral care and wellbeing.

Required profile

• Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS or equivalent) and a relevant degree.
• Significant senior leadership experience in an IB school with proven school‑improvement results.
• Strong knowledge of the IB Middle Years Programme.
• Excellent data literacy and ability to use assessment information to drive improvement.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting child welfare.
• International school experience, preferably in the Middle East (desirable).
